{Founding Partner}

Jeff Fagnan is a founder of Accomplice, where he focuses on emerging companies in enterprise and Internet infrastructure. Jeff is well known as a founding investor, working with most of his portfolio since inception, sometimes as a co-founder including Veracode (Sold to CA Technologies‍). Jeff sits on the board of many scaling startups including AngelList, CoinList, Carbon Black (CBLK), dataxu, Earnest (sold to Navien‍‍‍t), Edgewise, Freshbooks, Hopper, InsightSquared, Integral Ad Scien‍‍‍ce (sold to Vista Equity Partners), Perch, PillPack (sold to AMZN), Recorded Future, Teachable, Vesper, Willing, and Threat Stack. He is the founder of Spearhead, a program that provides funding and mentorship for new angel investors; Maiden Lane, the first investment vehicle built on top of AngelList; Boston Syndicates (BOSS), a federated movement to create stronger angel substrate in New England; and TUGG (Technology Underwriting Greater Good), a nonprofit foundation harnessing the power of the tech ecosystem to catalyze social innovation in New England. In 2016 he received the National Venture Capital Association annual American Spirit Award. In 2017 he received the Boston Business Journal's CEO Social Leadership Award.

ELIOT BASS

Eliot Bass is an investment associate at Accomplice and runs platform and analytics, providing business intelligence and analysis for the firm and its portfolio. Eliot’s investment focus centers around AI, big data, marketplaces, and any shiny new product. Previously Eliot worked as a BI analyst at Wayfair, the online furniture retailer, and a business analyst at Care.com, the leading marketplace for caregivers. Eliot received his BA in e‍‍‍conomics from Bowdoin College. He spends his time cooking, traveling, and embarrassing himself on the golf course.

SARAH DOWNEY

Sarah A. Downey is a Principal at Accomplice focusing on early stage investments in frontier tech. Sarah co-founded Rev Boston, an award and event honoring 20 of the top female VPs and directors in Boston tech. Previously, she was Director of Marketing at Ovia Health and Manager of Content and Communications at Abine. Sarah received her JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a BA in psychology from Hamilton College. Sarah has been published in over 250 publications, including The Wall Street Journal and CNN. She is a video gamer, weight lifter, and scifi fan. She is a board member of InnerCity Weightlifting, a TUGG portfolio non-profit.

SAM CLEMENS

Sam is founder & Chief Product Officer of Boston-based business analytics company InsightSquared. Before InsightSquared, Sam was VP Product at HubSpot, VP Product at BzzAgent, and on the initial team at Elance.com. His background also includes venture capital with Greylock Partners, the Algorithms group at Amazon.com, and management consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton. Sam has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in applied m‍‍‍ath from Yale. He serves as an advisory Entrepreneur-In-Residence at HBS and is a guest lecturer on product management at both HBS and MIT Sloan. In his off time he dives shipwrecks in the New England area.

TJ MAHONY

Prior to joining Accomplice, TJ was an original member of Compete, founding both its wireless practice and Compete.com, the largest open competitive analytics service prior to its acquisition by WPP/Kantar Media. TJ went on to found FlipKey, one of the big three vacation rental marketplaces, later acquired by TripAdvisor. At Accomplice, TJ is focused on marketplaces, human capital, vertical integrations and Boston Syndicate (BOSS). TJ has led portfolio investments in Lovepop, User Interviews, Bedly, Fetcher.ai, and Payfully.  He received a BA in economics from Macalester College.‍‍‍

RYAN MOORE

{Founding Partner}

People will tell you that Ryan Moore is both tall and genuine, and they are right. Ryan cares deeply for the founders he works with, to the point where he becomes a de facto co-worker. Ryan may have been the first investor in DraftKings, but he invests in much more than sports companies. He’s a founder of Accomplice and also seeded investments in clypd, HQO, Plastiq, Unsplash, and many more. He also serves on the boards of MOO, ‍‍‍Secret Escapes, Skillz, The Currency Cloud, and Globoforce, and was the initial investor in ChefHero, Confirm (sold to Facebook), Joist, Lyte, Transit, TVInsights, Rocketmiles (sold to Priceline), and Ubersense (acquired by Hudl). Ryan started at SoftBank Venture Capital (Mobius Venture Capital), then went to SoftBank Capital Partners before coming to Accomplice. He got his AB in economics from Princeton University, where he was a two-time All-Ivy linebacker on their football team. Ryan is a regular at the nonprofit InnerCity Weightlifting and a key member on Accomplice’s 200-mile Reach the Beach relay team, which he did for 8 years straight.

MIKE VISCUSO

Mike is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Carbon Black, an Accomplice portfolio company. At Carbon Black he has served in various roles including as SVP Product and CEO. At Accomplice, Mike is focused on big data, machine learning, and cybersecurity. He also founded Kyrus Technology, a computer and network security company based in Washington, DC. Mike began his career at ManTech, where he was Deputy Director in the Mission and Technology Solutions Group. He received a BS from Villanova University.

Cack is a Partner with Accomplice where she focuses on early stage technology investments and sits on the boards of both Appcues and Creative Market. Prior to joining Accomplice in 2017, Cack was an investor at Scale Venture Partners where she worked with the founding teams at CircleCI, PubNub, Realm, and Treasure Data. Cack also spent several years in sales roles at Oracle and Cloudera, where she learned a client-centricity and an appreciation for the startup marathon. She began her career as a professional runner for Nike.  Cack received her AB in history from Princeton University, where she was a 7-time All-America athlete, and received her MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

FRANK CASTELLUCCI

Frank is Partner and General Counsel and responsible for all legal affairs of Accomplice including the structure, negotiation, and execution of all investments, fund administration, and general corporate matters. Prior to joining Atlas Venture in 2004, Frank was an associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault LLP where he practiced general corporate law and advised both private and public companies in the high technology and life sciences industries, as well as venture capital firms in all areas of partnership, corporate, and general securities law. Frank received a JD from Boston College Law School and a BA in economics and history from Bowdoin College. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and an active participant in the NVCA’s General Counsel Group.

TRAVIS MACINNES

Travis is Partner and Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all finance, operations, and administrative functions of Accomplice. Prior to joining Accomplice in 2016, Travis was Vice President of Finance at Berkshire Partners where he was responsible for the accounting, reporting and compliance of both Berkshire private equity funds and Stockbridge public market funds.  Travis has also worked at Gödel Capital, Alta Equity Partners (fka Alta Communications), and BV Investment Partners (fka Boston Ventures). He began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he spent five years in the Investment Management audit practice. Travis received an MBA Boston University and a BA in accounting from Michigan State University.  He is a CPA licensed in Massachusetts.

JAYNI SHAH

{Principal}

‍‍‍Jayni is a principal at Accomplice where she focuses on early sta‍‍‍ge, consumer-leaning investments. She was previously an investor at Menlo Ventures. Jayni also spent several years at PayPal within the global corporate strategy group where she worked on various key strategic initiatives including the revamp of PayPal’s consumer wallet, the company’s spin-off from eBay, and the acquisition of both Braintree and Venmo. After the acquisition, she joined the Venmo team to focus on product and business operations. She began her career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank in New York. Jayni received her BA in political science and english from Wellesley College.
